I believe what you published was actually very reasonable. However, consider this, suppose you were to create a killer post title? I ain't suggesting your content isn't good., but what if you added a post title that makes people want more? I mean %BLOG_TITLE% is a little boring. You could glance at Yahoo's front page and see how they write article headlines to get people to open the links. You might add a related video or a pic or two to get readers interested about what you've written. Just my opinion, it could make your blog a little bit more interesting.
