I believe what you said was very reasonable. But, what about this? suppose you added a little content? I mean, I don't wish to tell you how to run your website, however what if you added a post title that makes people desire more? I mean %BLOG_TITLE% is kinda boring. You should glance at Yahoo's front page and note how they create article headlines to get people to open the links. You might add a video or a related picture or two to get people interested about what you've got to say. Just my opinion, it would make your website a little bit more interesting.
